JULY 2009
· The edit on the feature documentary Daughters of the Sapera directed by
Rachel Seely is finished. Filmed over a period of three years, and culled
down from 200 hours of rushes, the film now runs at around 90 minutes.

It tells the survival story of Sandra, a low-caste Indian gypsy woman, who
was the first of her kind to marry a Westerner. When he deserted her and
snatched their child, she was thrust from a life of relative luxury back to
the desert camps she originated from. Pregnant with their second child and
faced with the financial demands of her extended family, the story follows
Sandra as she tries to cope with her new life.

Combining a cinematic feel with a very intimate approach to the characters,
Daughters of the Sapera is a really special piece of work, and hopefully
will be playing at a festival or a TV set near you very soon!
